GDS serves students in grades 6–12, so your child can grow with us from middle school all the way to graduation.

GDS is a tuition-free public school program, so you won’t pay for classes or materials. We provide Georgia-certified teachers and instructional materials. You’ll just need to supply a few basic household items — like printer ink and paper.

Yes, since learning takes place online, your family will need access to a computer that meets the minimum tech requirements for the K12 School (OLS), along with an internet connection.

If that feels out of reach, don’t worry. Qualified families may be eligible to receive a loaner computer to help make things easier. These items are provided for learning purposes and must be returned if your student leaves the school.

Yes! We’ll send you the textbooks and hands-on materials your child needs based on their grade level and courses. Younger students typically receive more materials, while high schoolers do more work online. Either way, you’ll have what you need to support your child’s learning at home.

GDS provides a structured yet flexible learning environment. The program includes weekly assignments, scheduled lessons and activities, and assignments with set due dates. Optional and required instructional sessions are scheduled throughout the week to support student learning. Students have the flexibility to create a schedule that enables them to complete academic work and receive teacher support throughout the day.

Absolutely. If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 plan, we’ll work with you to tailor instruction to meet their needs. Just reach out to our team, and we’ll connect you with our experienced special education staff.

We love helping advanced learners reach their full potential! During enrollment, your child will take placement assessments so we can match them with the right level of coursework. For example, if your 6th grader is ready for 9th grade math, we can make that happen — while still keeping reading or other subjects at grade level.
