Testing and Assessment FAQs

What tests will my child be required to take?

All Georgia Digital School (GDS) students are required to take the following tests:

  • Course lesson assessments
  • Course unit assessments
  • Semester assessments
  • Diagnostic and formative assessments measuring mastery of grade-level standards

They will also take Georgia state-mandated tests, including:

EOGs (End-of-Grade tests):

  • Math and ELA in grades 6–8
  • Science and Social Studies in 8th grade

EOCs (End-of-Course tests):

  • Algebra I
  • Biology
  • American Literature
  • U.S. History

Will my child have to participate in state testing?

Yes. As public school students, all students enrolled in GDS are required to participate in state-mandated testing. These assessments must be taken in person at designated testing locations, so families should plan for travel to a testing site. Participation is mandatory for all enrolled students.
