Testing and Assessment FAQs
What tests will my child be required to take?
All Georgia Digital School (GDS) students are required to take the following tests:
- Course lesson assessments
- Course unit assessments
- Semester assessments
- Diagnostic and formative assessments measuring mastery of grade-level standards
They will also take Georgia state-mandated tests, including:
EOGs (End-of-Grade tests):
- Math and ELA in grades 6–8
- Science and Social Studies in 8th grade
EOCs (End-of-Course tests):
- Algebra I
- Biology
- American Literature
- U.S. History
Will my child have to participate in state testing?
Yes. As public school students, all students enrolled in GDS are required to participate in state-mandated testing. These assessments must be taken in person at designated testing locations, so families should plan for travel to a testing site. Participation is mandatory for all enrolled students.
